When Plast-O-Matic launched the True Blue Ball Valve line in 1983, Annie Ferguson joined our team as an assembler. Her dedication to that product was absolute, and she played a key role in making it the highest rated thermoplastic ball valve in the industry. Annie was truly a "superwoman", balancing her career with family and home life; a devoted wife to Jack, loving mother to John and Lenny. In recent years she doted on six grandchildren.
We lost Annie this past month, and our tribute is captured in the photo above. We'll miss her friendship, her can-do attitude, her dedication, and most of all, her spirit and energy.
Thank you Annie, we love you with all our hearts.

Greetings from Washington DC, where we recently wrapped up the American Water Works Association's "ACE 2011" trade show. Here we see POM factory rep Gary Rose of Rose Industrial Marketing explaining the virtues of our patented diaphragm Vacuum Breaker to a guest. Thanks to Gary and the rest of the sales team, our booth won "Best in Show" in the small exhibit category!
Our California boys, Ed & Frantz, recently hosted a series of distributor golf outings near the Riverside Branch. We were pleased to honor the best foursome at a day enjoyed with good friends from Harrington Industrial Plastics...from left to right...Raul Contreras, Manager of Hipco's Anaheim branch; Tom Quinn, Director Marketing and National Accounts; Vince Esposito, Vice-President Vendor Relations; and our own Ed Cellucci, National Sales Manager. Congratulations on a great round, three under par!
We recently took delivery of our newest machining center, a Doosan Puma 2600SY, which combines lathe and milling operations in one unit! This will reduce production time on larger format regulators, reliefs, and other valves. The machine was installed and set up last week. Peter Colantuono, GM of the Plast-O-Matic machine shop, is currently putting it through the paces, and pronounces it "awesome"!
As we move into our 44th year of business, the future leaders of Plast-O-Matic Valves are being groomed for senior management. Part of that personal growth and training was recently announced by company president George Drazinakis: Enrollment in the Crestcom "Bullet Proof Manager" program.

July is a big month here in New Jersey, as warm weather and sunshine and weekends at "the shore" are a time-honored tradition. Sunshine and warm weather are seldom in short supply at our Riverside CA branch, so we decided a little east coast style BBQ party was the only thing needed to make it just like the Jersey Shore!
With two days of festivities we hosted guests from Harrington Industrial Plastics, Ryan Herco Flow Solutions, and a number of friends and business partners from throughout the Southern California region. With owners Judy and Tim DeLorenzo and president George Drazinakis on hand, Ed Cellucci, Tim Jones and Frantz Clermont rolled out the True Blue carpet for all our guests. Champagne was chilled, grills were fired up, and the bunting and balloons added color.
It was also a great opportunity to present both Ryan Herco Flow Solutions and Harrington Industrial Plastics with our annual "Pinnacle Award," as our top distributors.
As you can see, a good time was had by all!
Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. has developed an automatic cell phone alert system that will instantly transmit a recorded and/or text message in the event of a pre-determined process event such as overpressure, no flow condition, pH fluctuation, etc.
The system uses a signal from virtually any common sensor -- such as the Plast-O-Matic Pressure Switch -- and sends a signal to an online dialing service that will automatically call up to six cell phones. The MO-A includes all necessary software, cabling, and data acquisition board, as well as a 1-year call service license. It requires a customer supplied dedicated laptop (or other computer with emergency power supply) and internet connection.

Products & NewsPlast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. has developed an all-thermoplastic, air operated pinch valve with a newly designed sleeve element that lasts up to five times longer than traditional designs.
Pinch valves use a normally-open sleeve element to control flow. They offer an open flow path to eliminate dead spots, and are especially suited to slurries and other media with particulate, since the elastomer sleeve will seal around solids that might prevent more common valve types from closing.
The sleeve element in Series HSA is a patent-pending design featuring variable thicknesses and a tapered shape. It is molded from EPDMh2, a new formulation of Ethelyne-Propylene-Diene-Monomer using a proprietary curing process for greater elasticity, durability, and longevity. This elastomer, combined with the new design, enables the pinch element to achieve over 1,000,000 cycles under test conditions.
Series HSA has ½? true union connections, threaded or socket. It uses compressed air via a 1/8? NPT connection, and requires a common 3-way air solenoid to operate, with 45 PSI over line pressure for full closure. Valve body materials are offered in Geon PVC, Corzan CPVC, Natural Polypro, or Kynar PVDF.

Medical Product Manufacturing News has announced that Plast-O-Matic Series ARV was selected by readers as a finalist in the new products category for 2005. The ARV is designed to expel large amounts of air/gas at system start-up.
